SHAWNEE MISSION, Kan. (Feb. 21, 2022) — Ů is now accepting applications from the class of 2022 high school graduates to award $1,000 scholarships, totaling $55,000. Forty, $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors from community high schools and an additional 15, $1,000 scholarships to children of Ů’ employees.
Students graduating with a high school diploma or equivalent in 2022 and who attend school in communities where Ů has business operations are encouraged to complete an online scholarship application before the March 4, 2022 deadline. Scholarships will be distributed to the recipients’ college of choice at the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year. “Helping to fund education is one way we can support the young leaders in our community,” says Kay Stinson, vice president of human resources and employee communications at Ů. “We recognize their goals and ambition, and we want to support them to realize those goals, reach their potential, and gain exposure to fundamental educational experiences.”
Community Scholarship Program
Ů will offer 40, $1,000 scholarships to students graduating with a high school diploma or equivalent and who plan to attend full-time higher education (four-year, two-year or technical programs) for the 2022-2023 academic year. Children of Employees Scholarship Program
Ů will also offer scholarships for children of employees. Fifteen, $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to children of Ů employees. Children must be high school seniors or equivalent, graduating in 2022 and attending full-time higher education (four-year, two-year or technical education) for the 2022-2023 academic year.
